Amateur Radio/Emergency Communications
I was recently called as our stake emergency communication specialist. I think it would be great if we had a forum (if there is enough interest) to discuss use of this technology in fulfilling our communications related callings. I would love to be able to get ideas from others and have a resource for technical questions.

Generally we wait until there is enough traffic to justify a section before we create one. We have discussed the topic in the past.

Re: Amateur Radio/Emergency Communications
Late reply, but I am also interested in the topic. I am the ward ham radio coordinator and we are building a network of ham radio operators in our ward for emergency communications. Our stake is quite active in emergency preparation, we are in southern California and there is a high probability that we will need it, most likely due to an earthquake.
